By Lisa Tealer

As we know the pandemic has disproportionately impacted people of color and last year a number of Black-led organizations organized a Bay Area Town Hall with a panel of public health and community leaders. BACHAC was honored to be on the panel. The Town Hall was attended by over 700 Bay Area community members to hear the issues and strategies to address this devastating pandemic.

This year a 2nd Bay Area Town will be held on Thursday, March 25th from 5:30-7:00pm. California Surgeon General Dr. Nadine Burke Harris will provide a state overview on vaccine history and State distribution plans. Breakout sessions by County will provide County updates on vaccine distribution, discuss vaccine facts and fiction, and strategies on the ground work efforts, followed by a facilitated Q&A. The goal is to bring clarity and education to our community so they have the tools to protect themselves and their loved ones. The presentation part of the breakout sessions will be brief to leave ample time for a facilitated Q&A.
