Telling Our Story: The African American Community Assessment 2023
The Bay Area Community Health Advisory Council (BACHAC), in partnership with the County of San Mateo, launched the first ever community assessment by and for Black/African Americans in San Mateo County. The goal of the assessment was to identify the social and environmental factors that contribute to or prevent substance use and mental health challenges amongst Black Youth.

The Youth Advisory Board (YAB) is part of the African American Planning and Design (AAPD) Committee for THE AFRICAN AMERICAN COMMUNITY ASSESSMENT: THE NEXT PHASE.
YAB, in partnership with the Bay Area Community Health Advisory Council (BACHAC) and the San Mateo County of Behavioral Services, will plan and/or implement recommendations from the African American Community Assessment 2023. Applications due January 24, 2024.
