Off to a Good Start
Held at the beginning of each year to encourage participants to keep their New Year’s resolutions, Off to a Good Start is an annual physical activity and nutrition program. The event emphasizes the importance of at least 30 minutes of physical activity every day to improve general health, lower weight and cholesterol, reduce depression, and help in the prevention of diabetes, heart disease, stroke, and some forms of cancer.
The high-energy day is filled with all types of movement activities: chair exercises; hip hop classes; strength and balance training; stretching and endurance; and African dance. Participants are a melting pot of people—younger, older, men and women of all races, sizes and shapes—who are pursuing the common goal of health and fitness.
