A Message Regarding Our Response to the Coronavirus Pandemic and “Shelter in Place” Orders
Greetings BACHAC Members, Community Partners & Supporters,
BACHAC is committed to the health and well-being of our community. As our community faces the challenges due to the coronavirus pandemic and the 'shelter in place' order, BACHAC has made the following changes:
Meetings:
Until further notice all BACHAC monthly and planning meetings will be virtually held either with the use of Zoom and/or phone. Zoom and call-in instructions will be sent out with meeting agendas. A special thank you to BACHAC Leader Rachael Mesia for making this available to us.
Programs:
NAMI Workshop: The 6-week mental health education workshop originally scheduled to start on March 25th will be postponed to a later date. As soon as a decision is made on the new dates, in partnership with St. James AME Zion Church and AACI, a communication will be sent out.
Census Project: The Census planning team will discuss what changes are needed to ensure we continue to inform and assist the community as needed. A separate e-mail will be sent out later with more details.
Soul Stroll: Soul Stroll for Health/BACHAC 25th Anniversary Weekend, originally scheduled for May 15-16, will be rescheduled to the weekend of Oct 3rd. A follow up communication to sponsors, participants and volunteers is forthcoming. Please mark your calendar.
Men's Health Symposium: MHS originally scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 19th, may be changed, due to the change in the date of Soul Stroll. Once a decision is made, a communication will be sent out.
Below is a CDC poster regarding How To Stop the Spread of Germs. Feel free to print it out and post or forward to your networks. Please continue to keep up to date regarding the coronavirus from reliable sources (see links below to county, state and federal websites). If you need medical advice/attention, please contact your healthcare provider. Also attached is the shelter in place order issued by seven Bay Area counties. Please review this important documents.
We will face this challenge together. Working with and supporting each other, remaining calm, sharing information and practicing compassion, we will prevail. I bid good health and safety to you, your family, friends, colleagues and our community.
